Important Delivery Information
These are the key things that you need to understand about
taking delivery of your
order, if it is being shipped directly to
you by container:
You must take delivery of your container within a few days of the
goods being cleared
by HM Customs and Excise. You will be
called by our freight forwarders to book in the delivery. Any delay
in taking your
delivery will incur a storage charge to you by the
port authority.
You are allowed up to 3 hours to unload your containers, after such
time you will
be charged a demurrage penalty of £40.00 per hour.
The following notes and guidelines,
if followed, will enable you to
unload your container within the 3 hour limit.
You will need the following items to unload your container:
• BOLT CUTTERS - to break
the security seal on the container
• FORK LIFT TRUCK - to remove the pallets from the container
• PALLET PUMP TRUCK - to move the pallets to the container
door for the fork lift
to take them out
• SHARP KNIFE - to cut any tethering of the pallets or loose
loading
• GLOVES - to protect your hands from splinters or other sharp
edges
• A COUPLE OF STRONG HELPERS - to help remove the LOOSE LOADED ITEMS from the container (of which there may be a few)
VERY IMPORTANT
There may be some items loaded on top of the pallets.
These will need to be removed by hand before the pallets can
be moved.
Great care should be taken during this stage as some of the items may be heavy and pallets should not be removed until you are sure that they are cleared of loose loaded items.
